We must admit lockdown can have its perks, such as binge watching BBC's latest drama The Serpent, with zero guilt and gleefully hitting the 'yes' button when asked "Are you still watching?" To be honest, we think that's a silly question but it's good to know BBC iPlayer have our back!
The Serpent dramatically, and often graphically, re-tells the true story of a hidden darkness on Asia's hippie trail in the 1970's. The twisted reality of a murderer, thief and seductive master of disguise. Starring Tahar Rahim and Jenna Coleman, the Serpent is a stylish, sexy and occasionally harrowing tour de force that will leave you wanting more, and Googling '70's eyewear' five minutes into episode one...
We couldn't resist opening our vintage archive to choose our favourite 70's pieces, as well as 70's inspired modern classics from the likes of Jacques Marie Mage and Nathalie Blanc...
Longines - France
This is an exceptional Aviator featuring intricate detailing, unique features and striking design. Remarkable. Unisex.
Jacques Marie Mage - Reynolds
Inspired by the on-screen bravado of actor Burt Reynolds, these rugged titanium spectacles, featuring an engraved double nose bridge and signature tailfin temple tips, come equipped with '70s charm. Unisex.
Gucci - Italy
An elusive Gucci semi-rimless has made its way out of the archive. With a complete horseshoe shape connecting the two halves, elements of the Gucci heritage permeate throughout the entire frame.
With soft colourings and a gradient lens, these frames are ideal for a night of dancing and grooving to the rhythm of your own.
Marni - Italy
An oversized frame with hues of milk and honey coloured acetate. With a soft gradient lens cascading over the front, these frames inspire thoughts of the 70s and the bright optimism the fashion presented.
Francoise Illevon - Italy
A glorious blue enshrouds this Francois Illevon frame. With curved faceting and an overall striking shape, these frames are ideal for those dreaming of sunshine and cool breezes in an Italian summer.
Kaleos - Spain
The Kaleos Slade in a custom pink tint. An exemplary show of 70s style still being as fabulous today. With this 70s inspired frame, the punchy pink hue truly stands out and makes this an extra special piece. You'll never find another like it.
Right, now that's done, we have another 3 episodes to watch...
